First World War 1914-18

The First War was one of the worst historic war. It went down in history as one of the saddest events that took millions of life and destruction. The war was started in the year 1914 and ended in 1918. It is also said as the War of Nations or War to End All Wars. It was fought between European countries.

The war was fought especially between Germany and Britain. There were a total of 65 million people involved in the war. The war was fought at different locations and different times between 1914 and 1918. There were many reasons behind the First World War.

The nationality, militarism, communism, economic conflicts, diplomatic webs, societal mismanagement, were the major reason behind the war. The killing of Austria’s Duke Francis Ferdinand in Bosnia was the reason for conflict.

Serbia was accused of killing Duke. The unrest was from a very long period. On 28th July 1914, Austria announced a war against Serbia. There were many countries involved in the war one by one. The Allied Powers- France, Britain, Russia, and the USA fought against Central Powers- Germany, Ottoman Empire, Japan, and Italy. On the 11th of November 1918, the War was over.
